We also provide physical resources like food, clothing, and daily essentials”.

Employment

Adults are given the chance to learn how to navigate everyday life through different activities that help them build useful skills. While they aim to get their own job after leaving the shelter, they also join seminars and workshops to develop their skills and talents.

Helping with basic needs and health care

Homeless people struggle with health issues, often due to not being able to maintain good hygiene. Homeless shelters play a key role in providing essential items and teaching people how to care for themselves. For those with health problems, hospital sponsors and health professionals offer the right treatment and medication.

Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)

Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) is a program aimed at offering long-term housing and supportive services to individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness. This program specifically targets those with diagnosed disabilities who have been continuously homeless for a minimum of one year. For many homeless individuals facing physical or mental disabilities, alleviating long-term homelessness often necessitates the provision of permanent housing paired with comprehensive supportive services. PSH ensures a safe and stable living environment and offers flexible, voluntary services to meet the diverse needs of residents.

Coordinated Entry System

The Coordinated Entry System (CES) is an effective framework designed to assist individuals and families in addressing their housing challenges by providing access to essential resources in a fair, client-centered, and transparent way.

Additional information, A Coordinated Entry System (CES) is a data-driven approach aimed at enhancing housing and service coordination, specifically designed to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with the most suitable housing solutions based on their unique needs. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development mandates that all projects funded under Continuums of Care (CoC) implement CES. The primary objectives of an effective Coordinated Entry System include the prompt identification of individuals experiencing homelessness, the prevention of homelessness whenever feasible, the thorough assessment of the needs of individuals requesting assistance, and the timely connection to appropriate housing and services.
